Every Solaire Intelligence product speaks ECM — the Energy Comfort Model. The SI Gateway calculates a live score from your solar, battery and grid data. Every connected device reads that score and knows exactly when to run.
No complex automations. No per-device inverter integrations. Just one shared energy language that gets smarter as you add more devices.
SI Gateway is a compact RS485-to-Wi-Fi bridge that sits in your distribution board or next to the inverter. It reads live Modbus data from your Sunsynk inverter, calculates the ECM score, and exposes it via a local HTTP endpoint. Every connected SI device polls that endpoint directly — no broker, no cloud, no subscription required for device intelligence.
The ECM (Energy Comfort Model) combines solar surplus, battery state, grid dependence and load demand into a single live score — the shared energy language that every SI device speaks. MQTT is available for the dashboard and Home Assistant, but SI devices use HTTP and work completely independently of any broker.
Solar PV, load, grid import/export, battery SOC and charge/discharge — polled every few seconds via Modbus RS485.
A live 0–20 energy comfort score exposed on a local HTTP endpoint. SI devices poll it directly — no broker dependency. MQTT publishes the same data for the dashboard and Home Assistant.
Set SOC targets per time slot, configure work mode, grid charge and solar sell — all from the app.
Installer provisions via QR code. No port forwarding, no cloud account required for local operation.
SI Pool replaces the old timer-and-floats world with a calibrated controller that combines temperature sensing, pump control, energy metering, filter health tracking and dry-run protection in a single installer-friendly unit.
SI Pool is the first device to run ECM automation. The pool controller doesn't need to understand your inverter or battery — it simply reads the ECM score and decides whether enough surplus energy exists to run the pump or heat pump. You set the thresholds. SI Pool does the rest.
Live pool temp with configurable target — SI Pool manages heating automatically to hit your setpoint.
Two independent timer windows, live power draw in watts, voltage and current — full visibility of pump energy use.
Filter clean threshold configurable in watts. Dry-run detection with grace period protects the pump from running without water.
Turn the pump, light and heat pump on or off from the app — whether you're at home or away.
SI Water uses a digital RS485 pressure sensor to measure the water column depth continuously. Pressure readings are converted live into volume in litres, height in centimetres and percentage fill — accurate, instant and with no float switches, no moving parts and no guessing.
There are no physical flow sensors. Inflow and outflow are derived in real time from changes in the pressure reading — giving you reliable flow data, usage totals and leak detection without any additional hardware.
Digital RS485 pressure sensor measures water column depth — converted live to litres, cm and %, calibrated to your tank dimensions.
Inflow and outflow calculated live from pressure changes — no flow sensors required. Reliable, accurate and instant.
Today, this month and all-time in/out totals. Recent water events log every fill and draw cycle with volume.
Push notification when tank drops below 20% — so you're never caught without water.
Why SI
SI isn't competing with automation platforms — it's a different architecture entirely. Here's what that means in practice.
| Capability | Solaire Intelligence | Centralised cloud automation |
|---|---|---|
| Intelligence lives in… | Each device — autonomous | Central server or cloud AI |
| Works without internet | ✓ Always — local-first | Cloud unreachable = no automation |
| Works through load shedding | ✓ Edge logic continues | Depends on connectivity |
| User configures… | Set thresholds — devices decide | Build and maintain rules or train AI |
| Extra sensors required | ✓ No — values derived from existing hardware | Typically yes — smart relays, clamps |
| Shared energy language | ✓ ECM — one score, all devices | Per-device cloud integrations |
| Decision speed | Immediate — on device | Round-trip to cloud |
| Ownership model | ✓ You own the hardware | Often subscription or lease |
| Your data stays local | ✓ Always | Cloud-dependent |
| Purpose-built for SA conditions | ✓ Load shedding, local grid realities | Generic global platform |
| How devices get energy data | ✓ Local HTTP — no broker required | MQTT or cloud API |
| Home Assistant compatible | ✓ Native MQTT — works alongside HA | Varies |
SI works alongside Home Assistant, not instead of it. If you already run HA, SI devices appear automatically via MQTT discovery.
