Pool Pump Mode
Pool Pump Mode turns SI Switch into an active pool health monitor. Most pool owners backwash on a fixed schedule — wasting thousands of litres of water whether the filter needs it or not. SI Switch watches the pump's power draw in real time. A clean filter allows free water flow and the pump draws full wattage. As the filter loads up, flow drops and so does the power. When it falls below your threshold, the app flags it as Dirty. Backwash only when it's actually needed — not before, not after.
Dry Run Protection addresses the number one cause of pool pump failure worldwide. Suction loss, a clogged skimmer basket, a closed valve or a low water level — all result in the pump running without water. Most homeowners only find out when the motor burns out. SI Switch detects near-zero current draw while the pump is running and cuts power before damage occurs. A configurable grace period allows for normal priming so you don't get false trips.
